영어 숫자 읽는법

 

 

 

영어 숫자 읽는 법에 대해 알아보겠습니다.

숫자를 읽을 때는 콤마(,)를 기준으로 큰 단위 읽는 법을 알아야 합니다.

thousand, million, billion   단위를 먼저 기억하세요.

그리고 콤마내의 숫자 3자리수는 백자리는 hundred 로 읽고 그보다 작은 숫자는 기수 읽는 법으로 읽으면 됩니다.

four billion (and) five million thirty thousand (and) six hundred (and) thirty-one

2,821,615 는 Two million eight hundred (and) twenty-one thousand six hundred (and) fifteen

콤마(,) 사이에 있는 백단위 이하 읽는 것은 위치가 어디에 있던 동일하고 콤마(,) 단위만 붙여주면 된다는 거 이해되시죠? 

 

그러면 이제 작은 단위 숫자 읽는 법을 표로 정리해봤습니다.

숫자를 1 ~12 까지는 고유한 숫자로

zero / one / two / three / four / five / six /seven / eight / nine / ten / eleven / twelve

 

13 ~ 19 까지는 뒤에 teen 을 붙여서

thirteen / fourteen / fifteen / sixteen / seventeen / eighteen / nineteen

  * five 는 v 가 f 로 변경되어 fifteen

20 ~ 90

twenty / thirty / forty / fifty / sixty / seventy / eighty / ninety  

  * four는 u 가 생략되어 forty

  * five 는 v가 f로 변경되어 fifty

21 ~ 99 까지는 하이픈을 넣습니다.

twenty-one / twenty-two / fifty-five

서수(Ordinal Numbers)

서수를 표현하는 원칙의 어미는 -th 인데 1, 2, 3 으로 끝나는 것은 1st, 2nd, 3rd 가 됩니다.

기수와 마찬가지로 21 ~ 99 까지는 하이픈을 넣습니다.

 

 

 소수(Decimal Fractions)

위의 숫자는 fifty-four point oh oh five 로 읽으면 됩니다.

0.123 은 (zero ) point one two three

4.123 은 four point one two three

6.5 는 six point five

 

분수(Fractions) 

3/4 는 three over four 라고 읽기도 하고 three-fourths 라고 읽음

25/382 는 twenty-five over three eight two 라고 읽음

6과 2/3 는 six and two-thirds 라고 읽음

1/7 은 one-seventh 라고 읽음 (분자가 1 이라서 분모는 단수 서수임)
