Lonely is an adjective which means you are unhappy because you are not with other people.
(옆에 아무도 없어서 감정이 외롭고 고독한(기쁘지 않은))
Lonely is a feeling you would probably come up against right after a break up, divorce, separation, distance, etc.
Someone can be alone and not be lonely.
