fit 와 suit 의 차이
두 어휘의 차이점이 뭘까? 구글링을 해서 찾아봤다.
Fit refers to size and shape. When your clothes fit you, they are neither too tight nor too loose for you.
If it 'fits', it may not suit you, but it's the right size.
fit 는 옷 등이 크지도 작지도 않고 딱맞는다는 의미
That dress fits perfectly (whatever colour it may be).
These shose don't fit me.Have you got a larger size? (이 신발 나랑 안맞아요. 더 큰 사이즈로 주세요)
These pants don'tfit me. I need a smaller size. (이 바지가 맞지 않네요. 더 작은사이즈 주세요)
That jacket fits you perfectly. (이 재킷은 너랑 너무 잘 맞는다)
I think my car's too big to fit in this space. (내 차가 너무 커서 이 공간이랑 안맞는 거 같아)
If a person is fit, he/she is in good health.
A sportsman must be fit. (스포츠맨은 틀림없이 건강하겠지)
Suit refers to style, colour etc. If something suits you, it is convenient or appropriate for you.
suit 는 스타일이나 색깔이 어울린다는 의미
Do you think this style suits me? (이 스타일이 나한테 어울리는 거 같이요?)
It suits you. (그거 당신이랑 잘 어울리네요)
You should wear more blue - it suits you. (더 파란색으로 입어봐. 그게 너랑 어울려)
Suit can also be used to say whether arrangements are convenient.
Will Tuesday suit you? (화요일 괜찮아요?)
Thursday would suit me very well for a meeting. (목요일이 회의하기에 딱 좋을거 같아요)
