have to 와 need to 의 차이

We say “have to” when we want to talk about obligations – things we have no choice about doing.

However, we say “need to” when we want to talk about things that are necessary to do in order to achieve a certain goal.

I have to be at work by 9:00 a.m. every morning. (매일 아침 9시까지 사무실에 도착해야 돼)

I have to help my friend move tomorrow, so I can’t have lunch with you. (내일 내친구 이사도와줘야 돼, 그래서 너랑 점심 못먹어)

You have to turn off the lights if you’re the last person to leave the office. (전등을 소등하셔야 합니다. 당신이 마지막으로 사무실을 퇴청한다면)
