house 와 home 의 차이
우리말로는 house 와 home 둘다 '집' 이라고 해서 헷갈린다.
house와 home 의 차이를 구글링해보면 약간씩 다르게 답변이 되어 있지만 뭘 의미하는지 이해가 된다.
A HOUSE is the BUILDING where the majority of people live. It normally has bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom and a dining room.
A HOME is a PLACE where someone lives.
House describes a particular type of building.
Home is the place where you live and feel that you belong to.
A home is the people who live in the house and make it a safe and pleasant place to be.
Home is where the heart is.
house 는 사람이 살고 있는 건물로 침실, 부엌, 거실, 주방 등 물리적 개념의 집을 말한다.
home은 그 집에 살면서 안전과 즐거움을 느끼며 당신이 속해있다고 느끼는 공간이다.
They live in a big house. (그들은 큰 집에 살고 있다)
Come to my house tonight. My parents will be gone. (오늘 밤에 우리집에 와라. 우리 엄마 아빠 어디 간대)
Home is where your heart is. (Home은 네 마음이 있는 곳이다)
Seoul is my second home. (서울은 제2의 고향이다)
고향은 hometown , 향수병은 homesick, 가정부는 housekeeper, 집들이는 housewarming party
자네 많이 피곤해 보이는군. 집에 가서 쉬게나.
You look so tired. Go home and get some rest.
* home 앞에는 to는 안씀
"네가 좋아하는 여자애가 4층집에 산다고?" 여기서 4층집을 영어로 뭐라고 할까?
a four-story house 또는 a four-story building 라고 한다.
The girl you like lives in a four-story house?
1층 : first floor, ground floor
2층 : 2nd floor , 3층 : 3rd floor, 4층 : 4th floor, 5층 : 5th floor
특정 층을 말할 때는 서수를 써야 한다.
I work on the 3rd floor. (난 3층에서 일해)
